  • Hierapolis

Behind the terraces is Hierapolis: a theatre, the baths, and a main street about a kilometre long.

Founded by Eumenes II of Pergamon in the 2nd century BC.

  • The Antique Pool

Inside the site, Cleopatra’s Pool is a thermal pool that lies over fallen Roman columns.

The swim is your choice on the day, and its ticket is bought at the pool.

  • Laodicea

A short drive away is Laodicea, with two theatres and the largest stadium in Anatolia.

Its church is one of the seven churches of Asia in the Book of Revelation.

Before You Book Four Days in Türkiye

Pamukkale, Hierapolis and Laodicea on the first day, Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary on the second, then two days in Cappadocia for Kaymaklı, Göreme and Avanos. You fly from Istanbul to Denizli, from İzmir to Kayseri and back to Istanbul, so the four days go to the sites and not the road.

Yes, if you fly between them. The three legs you fly on this route through Pamukkale, Ephesus and Cappadocia would be about 2,300 km by road, and the flights take about four hours in all.

Most guests who write to The Other Tour about these three regions add days in Istanbul before or after.

About 680 km over the four days on this route through Pamukkale, Ephesus and Cappadocia.

The first day is the longest, about 280 km and four hours on the road, most of it the afternoon drive from Pamukkale to Kuşadası. The two Cappadocia days are loops of under 100 km from your hotel.

At Ephesus the walk between the two gates is about 1.2 km, and the upper gate stands about 35 metres above the lower one, so from the top the way is downhill. At Pamukkale you walk the travertines barefoot, on wet stone. Tell us about any mobility needs when you write, and the day is planned around them.

Balloons in Cappadocia fly only in the morning window set by the civil aviation authority, from half an hour before sunrise until 11 am, and the weather decides each day. You wake in Cappadocia on two mornings of this route, so a cancelled flight can move to the next day. If your flight is cancelled, you can reschedule or have a full refund.

It can be either. In Pamukkale, Ephesus and Cappadocia you can join a small group or have a private guide. The Other Tour arranges the flights, hotels and airport transfers in both cases.

Yes. The tour of Pamukkale, Ephesus and Cappadocia includes three domestic flights, three nights in hotels with breakfast, the airport transfers and the entrance fees on the route. Dinners and the balloon flight are not included.

Yes. Every tour we plan is tailor-made, so the four days through Pamukkale, Ephesus and Cappadocia can start at either end, or grow by a day. Tell us your dates and what you want to see.

Plan Your Four Days

Tell us your dates, who is travelling, and whether you would like a small group or a private guide. There is nothing to buy in advance. We reply within a day with a plan for your dates.
