Tag: Gulet

A gulet is a traditional wooden Turkish sailing yacht — broad-beamed, deep-keeled, hand-built in the boatyards of Bodrum and along the Aegean for nearly a century. Once the working boats of sponge divers and coastal traders, gulets have become the iconic way to travel Turkey’s Turquoise Coast: two or three masts, polished teak decks, four to twelve cabins below, a captain and crew who cook for you, and an itinerary written by the wind and the bays you fall in love with along the way. This is what locals call a Blue Cruise — slow travel at its most absurdly beautiful.

This archive collects our hand-picked gulets and the routes they sail. Step aboard the elegant Gulet Istlada for a private Lycian loop between Demre, Kekova and Kaş, or take the larger luxury Gulet Kamala for a multi-cabin charter built around your group. Want full flexibility? Our private gulet charter service can match you to the right hull, captain, and route for your dates.

For shorter sails, drop into the private Kekova day tour from Demre, where you’ll swim above the Sunken City and eat lunch over a Byzantine harbor. For longer journeys, choose between the classic 4-day Fethiye to Olympos cruise, its reverse-direction sister the Olympos to Fethiye route, or the deeper 7-day Fethiye–Kekova loop. If you want to combine the sea with the city, our Istanbul & Carian Coast 2-week luxury tour stitches a private gulet onto an Istanbul opening, with everything handled door-to-deck.

Add a paragliding flight from Babadağ, a sea-kayak over the Sunken City, or a sunrise hike from a deserted cove and you start to see why most clients tell us, after a gulet week, that they’re already planning the next one. Read our adventure travel guide for ideas — and when you’re ready, tell us your dates.
