Priene, Miletus, and Didyma pull you straight into the Aegean’s wild past—steep streets, giant theaters, towering columns, and oracle legends. You chase history all day and end up feeling like you’ve stepped out of an epic.

Tour Details

This is a full day guided tour archaeology and deep Greco & Roman & Hellenic heritage.

    • Duration: ~8–9 hours (flexible).
    • Operates: Every day of the year.
    • Departures: Kuşadası/Selçuk (standard). İzmir or Bodrum on request.
    • Style: Private vehicle + expert local guide, fully customizable pace and content.

Tours Highlights

Priene: Terraced Hellenistic city, grid-plan streets, hillside Temple of Athena, bouleuterion, theater with royal seats.

Miletus: Once a mighty Ionian port; theater, Roman baths, Delphinion; great for discussing ancient trade and silting of the Meander.

Didyma: Monumental Temple of Apollo—colossal columns and oracular history; one of the most photogenic sanctuaries in Turkey.

Hourly Detailed Plan

  • 08:30 – Hotel pickup. Drive along the Meander plain (introductions, route briefing, coffee option).
  • 09:30–11:00 – Priene visit: upper/ lower terraces, Temple of Athena, theater, views over Söke valley.
  • 11:30–12:45 – Miletus visit: theater’s summit for city/harbor panorama; Baths of Faustina; city planning talk.
  • 13:00–14:00 – Lunch in a local countryside restaurant (Aegean mezes (side dishes), grilled seasonal fish/meat; vegetarian options).
  • 14:20–15:45 – Didyma visit: processional way story, Apollo cult & oracles, column drums/reliefs.
  • 16:00–17:30 – Scenic return to Kuşadası/Selçuk. Drop-off at hotel/port.
  • (From İzmir: start ~07:30; from Bodrum: route often reverses—Didyma → Miletus → Priene.)

What’s Included

  • Private Mercedes (or similar) A/C vehicle & professional driver.
  • Expert Tour guide (history, archaeology, local culture).
  • Door-to-door pickup & drop-off (hotel/port/airport by arrangement).
  • Parking & highway fees.
  • Cold water stock in vehicle.

Good to Know

  • Terrain: Priene has stone steps and slopes; comfy walking shoes essential.
  • Seasonality: Summer is hot!—hat, sunscreen, and water; winter can be breezy at hill sites—layer up.
  • Accessibility: We can adjust pacing, minimize stairs (esp. at Miletus/Didyma), and plan frequent rest stops—tell us in advance.
  • Cruise timing: Fits common Ephesus-area port calls; we’ll align pickup/drop to ship schedule.
  • Language: Tours available in English; other languages on request.

Indicative Timing by Departure Point

  • Kuşadası/Selçuk: ~8–9h round trip (standard plan above).
  • İzmir: ~10–11h (earlier start; coffee stop en route).
  • Bodrum: ~9–10h (often reverse order; beautiful coastal drive).
