Tour Itinerary

Departure: The Blue Tour starts at 9:30 AM, with hotel pickups arranged before departure. Prepare for a fascinating journey through the lesser-known yet captivating spots of Cappadocia.

Three Beauties of Ürgüp: We begin at the iconic “Three Beauties of Ürgüp,” where you’ll witness the famous mushroom-shaped rock formations and panoramic views of Ürgüp. Shaped by millions of years of volcanic activity and erosion, this dramatic landscape offers an extraordinary introduction to Cappadocia’s geological wonders. Our guide will share insights into the region’s unique formation process and cultural history.

Mustafapaşa (Sinasos): Next, we head to Mustafapaşa, once known as Sinasos, a village with deep Greek roots. You’ll stroll through streets lined with well-preserved Greek stone houses, remnants of a bygone era when Greeks and Turks coexisted. The population exchange of 1923, following the Treaty of Lausanne, saw the Greeks leave the village, leaving behind architectural gems that now serve as historical relics or boutique hotels.

Taşkınpaşa: Our journey continues through Taşkınpaşa, a village renowned for its traditional Seljuk-style architecture. You’ll see houses with stables on the ground floor and a centuries-old medrese (Islamic theological school), whose striking doorway still stands as a testament to its historical significance.

Sobessos Excavations: We visit Sobessos, a recently unearthed Roman-era archaeological site near Şahinefendi village. Highlights include:

  • A 4th-century meeting hall adorned with intricate mosaics.
  • A Roman bath featuring a well-preserved underfloor heating system.
  • Artifacts and remains that provide rare insights into early Christian and Roman life in Cappadocia.

Our guide will explain the historical and cultural significance of the site, which continues to reveal fascinating discoveries.

Şahinefendi Village: Driving through Şahinefendi Village, you’ll experience authentic local life, from villagers in traditional attire to large storage caves carved into the hills. This serene stop showcases the timeless rhythm of rural Cappadocia.

Soğanlı Valley

Enjoy a peaceful walk in the Soğanlı Valley, home to ancient churches adorned with frescoes from the 10th to 13th centuries. Local women create the famous Soğanlı dolls here, a unique keepsake for visitors. Our walk culminates with a delightful lunch at a local restaurant, offering a taste of Cappadocia’s traditional cuisine.

Kaymaklı Underground City

The final stop is Kaymaklı Underground City, one of Cappadocia’s largest and most atmospheric underground settlements. Carved across multiple levels connected by narrow tunnels, Kaymaklı sheltered local communities and early Christians during times of danger.

You’ll wander past stables, wineries, kitchens, living quarters, and ingenious ventilation shafts, getting a vivid sense of how people once lived, worked, and prayed entirely underground.

What’s Included

When you book a private tour with us, we usually arrange your professional guide and private transportation in a Mercedes Vito–class luxury van.

If you wish, we can also arrange museum and site tickets on your behalf, but this is not our default.

Food and drinks are typically not included in the tour price.

In fact, as hinted earlier, we often leave museum tickets out as well. It only takes a minute to purchase them on the spot, and this way we maximize flexibility: you never feel obliged to visit a particular site on a fixed day just because the ticket was pre-booked.

You could then list what can be included like this:

  • Professional English-speaking guide

  • Transportation in a comfortable, air-conditioned Mercedes Vito–class vehicle

  • Lunch at a local restaurant (on request)

  • All relevant admission fees (on request)

What’s Not Included

  • Food & Drinks
  • Tips for the guide and driver
  • Personal expenses

Loving the off-the-beaten-path vibe of this! Would you say this is a good alternative if we’ve already done the main highlights?
