Detailed Itinerary
This itinerary offers a balanced introduction to western Turkey, moving from the imperial grandeur of Istanbul to the calmer, more lyrical landscapes of the Aegean.
It is designed to combine major historical landmarks with gentler local experiences — from the illuminated silhouettes of Sultanahmet and the living neighborhoods of Kadıköy to the harbor charm of Foça, the vineyards of Urla, and the monumental ruins of Ephesus.
Throughout, the pace remains thoughtful and elegant, allowing time not only to see, but to absorb the atmosphere of each place.
Day 1 – Arrival in Istanbul
Upon arrival at Istanbul Airport, you will be welcomed and privately transferred to your hotel. In the evening, a gentle walk through Sultanahmet introduces the city in its most atmospheric light.
Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque stand illuminated, and the ancient Hippodrome reveals the layered narrative of Roman and Ottoman history. The aim is not intensity, but orientation — allowing the city to open gradually.

Day 2 – The Historic Peninsula
After breakfast, the day unfolds across the classical heart of the city. Hagia Sophia is approached as a living monument shaped by successive civilizations. The Blue Mosque is experienced as both architectural masterpiece and functioning place of worship. Beneath the streets, the Basilica Cistern reveals Byzantine engineering, while the Hippodrome connects us to Constantinople’s civic past.
The Grand Bazaar concludes the day — not merely as a marketplace, but as a centuries-old commercial organism that still pulses with life.
Day 3 – Anatolian Side & Contemporary Life
Today the focus shifts across the Bosphorus to the Asian side. In Kadıköy, markets, fishmongers and neighborhood cafés reveal the daily rhythms of modern Istanbul. From Çamlıca Hill, the geography of two continents becomes visible at once. The afternoon continues through quieter residential districts where tourism fades and local life takes precedence.
Day 4 – Flight to Izmir / Foça
A morning flight brings you to Izmir. From there, the road leads north to Foça — a small Aegean harbor town defined by stone houses, fishing boats and a relaxed maritime character. Time is allowed for a waterfront walk and unstructured moments at harbor cafés before returning to Izmir for hotel check-in.
Day 5 – Urla Vineyards
After breakfast, travel into the vineyard landscape of Urla. Visits are arranged at two carefully selected boutique wineries. Walk among the vines, learn about indigenous grape varieties and small-scale production techniques, and enjoy guided tastings in calm, design-conscious settings. The emphasis is on quality and context rather than volume.
Return to Izmir in the afternoon.
Day 6 – Ephesus & Kuşadası
Drive to Selçuk for a comprehensive visit of Ephesus, one of the best-preserved Greco-Roman cities of the Mediterranean world. Walking along Marble Road (Curetes Street), the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre illustrate the urban sophistication of the Roman period. The visit is structured to provide historical continuity rather than isolated highlights.
An optional visit to the House of Virgin Mary may be added upon request.
Continue to Kuşadası for overnight stay along the Aegean coast.
Day 7 – Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Izmir Airport according to your flight schedule.
