Day 1: Classic Old Town Walking Tour – Where Empires Collide

Start your journey in the heart of ancient Constantinople. On this day, we walk through centuries of layered history — Byzantine, Ottoman, and modern Turkish — all within reach of each other in the Old City.

🔹 Hippodrome of Constantinople: Once the site of chariot races and imperial ceremonies.
🔹 Blue Mosque: A living place of worship known for its six minarets and Iznik tiles.
🔹 Hagia Sophia: A 1500-year-old wonder that has been a church, mosque, and museum.
🔹 Basilica Cistern: Descend into a hauntingly beautiful underground world.
🔹 Topkapı Palace: Home to Ottoman sultans for over 400 years.
🔹 Grand Bazaar & Spice Market: Finish the day with a sensory explosion of color, scent, and tradition.

🧿 This day sets the historical foundation for understanding Istanbul’s unique character — a blend of East and West, sacred and secular, ancient and ever-changing.

Day 2: Full Extent of the Bosphorus – Coastline, Castles & Culture

Travel the full stretch of the Bosphorus — from the old neighborhoods of Arnavutköy to the northern edge of Istanbul and back down to the Asian side. We do it all with public ferries, scenic strolls, and incredible stories.

🔹 Arnavutköy: Wooden Ottoman mansions and waterfront cafés.
🔹 Bebek to Emirgan: Peaceful shoreline walks and shaded parks.
🔹 Büyükdere & Sariyer: Suburban calm and local flavors.
🔹 Yoros Castle: Climb to this hilltop ruin for a panoramic view where the Bosphorus meets the Black Sea.

Day 3: Judeo-Christian Heritage Tour – Istanbul’s Spiritual Mosaic

Trace the often-overlooked spiritual roots of Istanbul through centuries-old synagogues, churches, and neighborhoods where different faiths have lived side by side. This day offers a peaceful, thoughtful exploration of the city’s multi-religious character — across both sides of the Bosphorus.

🔹 Karaköy & Galata: Begin in Istanbul’s former Jewish quarter. Discover Neve Shalom Synagogue, the Italian Synagogue, and the elegant Camondo Stairs — symbols of a once-thriving Sephardic community.

Bosphorus public ferries are frequent and an experience in an of themselves.

🔹 Ferry Ride to the Asian Side: Cross the Bosphorus with stunning views of Istanbul’s skyline.

🔹 Kuzguncuk: Wander through one of the city’s most charming and harmonious neighborhoods, where synagogues, churches, and mosques stand within meters of one another.

🔹 Lunch at Metet Döner: Enjoy a delicious meal at a local favorite, beloved by both locals and returning visitors.
🔹 Ferry Across the Golden Horn: Cross back to the European side for the afternoon portion of the tour.
🔹 Balat & Fener: Explore the cobbled streets and vibrant facades of Balat, visit the Ahrida Synagogue (exterior), and see Greek Orthodox churches including the Ecumenical Patriarchate — the symbolic heart of Eastern Orthodoxy.

🧿 This day invites reflection. It’s about walking through centuries of tolerance and tension, faith and resilience — and discovering how Istanbul’s conscience was shaped not just by empires, but by its communities.
